EDIT 11/19/07: This thing had WAY too many faves for the quality of the art, so I decided to redraw it to reflect my current art style. The ski-jump anime nose especially bothered me; as you can see, I draw noses WAY differently now.
I also tried to add more visual interest with more varied line widths and more bangs. Hope you like this new version as much as you guys liked the old one.
EDIT 11/23/07: Fixed the chin. It's less pointy now.

You know, I've actually been meaning to do this for a really, really long time and never actually did it. I've always thought that the silouhette poster for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" was just absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. I've also thought for quite a while that Inu-Yasha is very similar to the Beast. In fact, there are some serious similarities between a lot of characters from IY and from B&B. Kouga as Gaston, for example. Miroku as Lumiere. Myouga as Cogsworth. The list goes on and on. So I endeavored to make a parody-ish poster like this. I tried to stick to the drawing style of the original while I was drawing this.
The only thing that bothers me is that damn jewel, for some reason. ><!
Interesting. Of course, the entire Inuyasha/Kagome relationship is very much like Beauty and the Beast's at times.

Lovely image. I think you caught the style of the original perfectly. Inuyasha and Kagome do match up so well with the Beauty and the Beast storyline. And, I've always been able to see them fitting perfectly into the scene in the Disney version when the Beast demands Belle come down to dinner.
The jewel does seem a little flat after the nice, varying line widths everywhere else. But, it's not as detailed as the rose in the original just because of what it is. Er... Maybe if you put a highlight on it? I think it looks fine as is though. ::adds it to favorites::
